As indicated by the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, “direct liquor utilization is characterized as having up to one drink for each day for ladies and up to two drinks per day for men. This statement is alluding to the amount of liquor consumed on any single day and isn’t proposed as an average over some days.”

Rum:

Rum is the liquor obtained from the extracts of cane sugar or molasses. It is the oldest extracted liquor. Rum is usually stored in barrels made of oak or other woods for the experience of maturation. Aging of liquor is enhanced by storing them in oak barrels. The vanillin and the tannins that are present in the oak wood changes the nature of the rum. There are a few types of rums, few of them are,

  • Premium aged rum
  • Vintage rum

Vodka:

The roots of vodka lie in either Russia or Poland over 1,000 years back. There is no authoritative proof with respect to who made it first, however, what is sure is that commercial refining of vodka prospered in the two nations in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. Vodkas need not be aged and can be packed in bottles immediately after producing. It can be drunk plainly, and vodka tastes good just as cocktails. Here are some of the types of vodkas,

  • Fruit vodkas

Tequila:

Tequila is distilled from agave plants. Tequila is made only is some specific regions like the Mexican state of Jalisco. The volcanic soil in these areas is ideal for the growth of agave plants. Tequila is usually served with lime and salt. There are four types of tequila, they are,

  • Blanco – preserved for two months
  • Añejo – preserved for one to three years
  • Reposado – preserved for 12 months
  • Extra-añejo – preserved for more than three years

Whiskey:

Whiskey is a well-known Scottish distilled alcoholic beverage. Whiskey is made from the fermentation of grain squash that contains 40% – 47% of alcohol. It is mandatory to store them in barrels for years to get a better product. As whiskey is more matured than any other drinks, people find it hard to drink whiskey.

Martini:

Martini is an iconic cocktail made with vermouth and gin. It is garnished with olives or a twist of lemon. The base liquor can be varied according to the preference of the person. Different types of martinis that can be prepared by various base drinks and flavors.
